Nine Star Burden

Chapter 190: Not Taking Life and Death Seriously

Chapter 190: Not Taking Life and Death Seriously

Three days later, in the forest outside Task Point No. 2.

A team of two males and two females walked towards Task Point No. 2 with their hands full of loots. However, they saw several figures in the forest.

The leader of the team was a tall and suave young man who raised his hand and held the crescent sword in front of him. The entire team stopped as well.

“Ambush!” Wu Haoyang exclaimed as he glanced at the figures from afar with glistening eyes. However, he was filled with disdain because the figures were clearly not too intelligent. Since they had already prepared to ambush, they ought not to give themselves away.

Is this not an ambush?

Is this daylight robbery?

Tsk, tsk, horrible!

All of you actually dared to beard the lion in his den. Atrocious!

“You guys! What are you standing there for?” Wu Haoyang questioned in a clear and loud voice, attracting the attention of many.

The round-faced young man standing behind Wu Haoyang was carrying a bunch of yellow weapons in his hand and looking in front with his guard up. The more he looked, the more flustered he got. Why are there so many people here?

Two teams?

No, there are ten people, so there must be at least three teams! Are they an illegal team?

The males and females at the edge of the forest were extremely disheartened and dejected. Some of them were also panicking.

It was beyond Wu Haoyang’s expectations. “One of you, come out and say something!”

All of a sudden, the students in front looked at each other and began whispering amongst themselves.

“Ah!” Wu Haoyang roared like a tiger and waved his crescent sword before pointing it at everyone. “Since no one wants to talk, scram! If you block my way, don’t blame me for being nasty!”

The students glowered at Wu Haoyang and quickly parted to make way for this team even though they initially wanted to say something.

“Hehe.” Wu Haoyan smiled suavely as he walked forward while carrying the crescent sword.

At the back were Qian Zhuang, who was working as a coolie, and two twin sisters.

An Youyou rolled her eyes and walked forward together with the team. She said in a gentle voice, “Eh? What are you guys doing here? What happened?”

“Yeah, what are you doing here?” An Luming blinked and looked at the group of “refugees” curiously with her large eyes.

The truth had proved that they were young and beautiful girls, but they were still extremely lethal.

Even though the students were extremely dissatisfied with Wu Haoyang’s tyranny, some of the male students responded to the two harmless-looking and adorable girls.

“There’s a team in the forest front. It’s the elite team from Jiangbin High School No. 3.”

“They have already robbed many teams of their weapons and medals.”

“They’ve caused plenty of the students to withdraw from the competition.”

“Do you want to join us? Let’s wait for one or two more teams. We’ll team up with them and snatch our spoils back?”

“Yeah, girl. If you guys just charge forward that way, I’m afraid all your weapons and medals will be robbed. That would be losing all your previous gains and letting your effort go in vain.”

“Damn it. That group of bullies who only bully the weak is really bastards. Yet, the team from Jiangbin High School No. 2 left safely without being robbed...”

Wu Haoyang suddenly felt infuriated when he heard the students gossiping incessantly.

Wu Haoyang was an upright person with a feisty character.

Hearing that the students had gotten robbed and that there were bullies who only bullied the weak, he flew into a rage and barked. “Rob me? I dare them to do so! You guys, wait for me here. I’ll go look for them!”

Several students looked at Wu Haoyang’s arrogant demeanor with complicated emotions.

This kid is actually so maniacally brutal!?!

This group of students decided to cooperate because they wanted to support each other and get what they needed.

However, this new guy seems to be trying to fight the villain alone with no weapons?

Is he going to fight hard with the opponent?

“Brother, we’d better team up.”

“Yeah, don’t act impulsively...”

One of the calmer male students said with a derisive expression, “Hero, you must press on. Many of the teams have been forced to withdraw. Don’t end up suffering that fate too.”

“Yeah, you guys better stay. We’ll wait for more teams and then go in together to get our spoils back.”

“Enough. He’s so brave, he doesn’t need our help at all.”

The team passed the students and all they heard was them gossiping.

An Luming was immediately displeased and she retorted loudly. “What are you guys saying? Especially the few of you. Are you guys even men? You’re incompetent and all you do is resort to being sarcastic.”

An Youyou hurriedly tugged her sister’s arm, for she did not want to anger everyone.

An Luming was clearly not a pushover who would allow others to take advantage of her. She looked adorable on the surface, but she had a sharp tongue and would never hesitate to criticize or insult others.

Qian Zhuang, who had difficulty in speech, had long been displeased with their words but had no choice except to bear with it because his abilities were limited.

When he heard An Luming’s shrewd retort, he immediately felt much more comfortable and even farted uncontrollably...

Awesome!

The group who got mocked by An Luming, whose hair was tied into buns, immediately hollered in exasperation.

“What did you say!?!”

“Repeat yourself!”

“Damn it...”

At the front of the team was Wu Haoyang, who had already walked away and turned around to walk back to the pair of sisters. He pulled the two of them behind him and swung his crescent sword forcefully with his right arm.

Whoosh!

A sudden gust of wind swept through the dense forest, blowing up the leaves that fluttered in the sky. The students swayed uncontrollably as if the weeds under their feet were fluid.

Wu Haoyang held the crescent sword in his hand and fell onto the ground forcefully, forming a pit in the ground that was neither too large nor too small. He hollered. “Shut up!”

The students smoothed their messy hair and adjusted their clothes. They never expected the suave and heroic young man to be so stubborn. Does he really plan to fight with so many people?

Does he really have what it takes?

Is he on par with that bunch of robbers?

Before the students could even respond, Wu Haoyang yelled, “Retreat! Or fight!”

An Luming clenched her first and clutched her chest while murmuring softly, “Oh my god, this guy is so handsome and suave...”

An Youyou rolled her eyes at her sister in displeasure and nudged her with her elbow in a reprimanding manner.

One of the students panicked and swallowed some saliva before taking a step back subconsciously.

After one of them retreated, the rest followed suit.

Wu Haoyang humphed and left slowly with his teammates until their figures disappeared in the distance of the forest. Neither of them said another word.

Among the students, a thin young man’s expression changed a little and he hesitated for a while before breaking away from the team and chasing after them...

Of course, Wu Haoyang took the lead, followed by Qian Zhuang who was carrying a bunch of yellow weapons while two pretty and identical-looking girls followed behind him. The team of four headed to Task Point No. 2 fearlessly without stopping.

The team walked for more than ten minutes before Wu Haoyang found traces of fighting.

If they were to follow the direction of the traces, they would deviate from the route to the task point.

Wu Haoyang observed carefully for a moment before turning to look at the An sisters in a bid to find out something.

An Youyou pursed lips and said, “Since they are not blocking the road, we don’t have to take risks. We’d better complete the task with peace of mind.”

An Luming was immediately displeased and asked, “Eh? Sister, they have robbed us of so many things. We’d better get rid of the villains and serve justice!”

An Youyou gibed. “You’re just interested in the spoils that they snatched away.”

An Luming chuckled awkwardly because her intentions had been exposed. She exclaimed, “(Elder) Sister!”

Is she the older sister or the younger one...

Does she change the way she addresses me as and when she pleases?

An Luming said, “(Elder) Sister, let’s go. The opponent may be competent, but we’re no pushovers either. We must get all the battle spoils back and ensure that we’ll advance! Today’s the last day, and there are 12 hours to go until the competition ends.”

An Youyou felt a little tempted. In order to ensure their advance, it would, of course, be better to have more spoils. She looked at Qian Zhuang and said, “If nothing goes wrong, the team from Jiangbin High School No. 3 should be Zhang Mingming’s team. What do you think?”

Qian Zhuang opened his mouth for a long time and said, “No, no, no, no...”

An Luming answered, “No problem! Do it!”

Qian Zhuang panicked and said hurriedly, “No, no, no, no...”

An Luming nodded and said, “Not an issue! Do it!”

Qian Zhuang’s round face was flushed, and it was as if it was about to bleed.

An Youyou grabbed An Luming’s hair which was tied back into a bun and tugged it forcefully. She reprimanded. “Let him finish talking!”

An Luming leaned back and stumbled backward before looking at her sister with resentment. She whispered, “By the time he finishes talking, that team would have vanished without a trace...”

Qian Zhuang finally managed to complete his sentence. “No, no, no... no way we’re going!”

Wu Haoyang suddenly stood up, raised his sword, and said, “We’re not going, they’re coming to us.”

“Huh?” Qian Zhuang subconsciously retreated.

The sisters looked into the distance at the same time and saw a familiar face.

Although the two teams had never met before, they were well aware of each other.

Although the sisters had different personalities, their movements were surprisingly coordinated.

Both of them tilted their heads towards the side and blinked while scrutinizing the figures deep in the forest with their large, bright eyes.
